Pro Oxidant conquers First Condition at Fair Grounds

PRO OXIDANT (g, 3, Medaglia d'Oro--Ender's Sister {MSW & MGSP, $525,048}, by A.P. Indy) broke his maiden in dominant fashion with a seven-length romp at Churchill Downs Aug. 13 but entered Thursday with a pair of off-the-board finishes in Kentucky before making the trip south.

 

Away as the 2-1 chalk, he settled off the pace while struggling to find racing room between rivals into the far turn. Tipped inside, he found space into the far turn before coming outside of late pacesetter Underhill's Tab (Unified) to take over close to home, clearing late t o win by 1 1/4 lengths.

 

Already a half-brother to a trio of graded-stakes performers in A. P. Indian (Indian Charlie), MGISW, $1,477,434, Its All Relevant (Hard Spun), GSP, $589,467 and Tiz Shea D (Tiznow), GSW, $482,197, Pro Oxidant's only younger sibling is a weanling half-sister by City of Light. Ender's Sister visited Gun Runner for next season.
