Honorifique wins after slight illness!

19 Mar 2021

Honorifique, a feisty gray filly, came back after the slight illness that pushed her off the 3yo stakes path with a decisive win over a field of winners in a first condition allowance at Tampa Bay Downs on March 7.  Her first start going two-turns, trainer Eddie Kenneally felt this was where we would see a big improvement from her to take her to the next level in her career.

During the race, she rated behind Striking Chrome for the first ¾ in a leisurely 1:13.3 before slipping through on the rail when put into the next gear. for the drive. Under a hand ride from Antonio Gallardo, she eased past her rivals to an almost 2 length win in 1:41.3 for a mile and 40 yards.  She earned a 76 beyer speed figure and an 8 thorograph for her effort.  This race sets her up to run at next month’s Keeneland meet in a second condition allowance going 1 1/16 miles.  She contin ues to make steady progress in her development and we hope she will enjoy a fruitful 3yo season this summer.
