Honorifique notches impressive win

19 Nov 2020

Honorifique, a two-year-old filly by Honor Code, won a straight maiden race at Chruchill Downs on November 14.  It was the second victory in our silks for trainer Eddie Kenneally, who conditioned Frostmourne to a big comeback win the previous week.

Making her fourth start,  she approached the one-turn mile race very professionally.  She was able to rate comfortably a few lengths off the pace, made steady progess while wide around the turn, made the lead at the top of the stretch and quickly repelled a challenge from favored Rookery to draw off and win geared-down by over three lengths.  Final time for the mile was a solid 1:36:3.  It has been quite some time since we had a two-year-old winner- how refreshing! Her lifetime earnings are now more than $65,000.

Honorifique is an improving filly and, as one whose breeding suggests dirt and distance, could develop into a solid competitor aginst top-quality competition.  She's even a pretty gray!

Honorifique was purchased for us at the Keeneland September sale in 2019 by Patrick Masson for $110,000.
