Plans finalized for 2020 Breedings

16 Dec 2019

Green Lantern Stables plans to breed 19 mares in the 2020 season, again using mostly proven stallions and trying to hard to produce solid racing prospects for both our stable and the commercial market.  In addition to using our shares in Kitten's Joy and Twirling Candy, we have mares under contract to top sires American Pharoah, Uncle Mo, Speightstown, Candy Ride and Street Sense.

Enders Sister will return to Tiznow, a mating that produced Indiana Derby (G2) winner Tiz Shea D.

Athenian will go to Kitten's Joy, while newcomers Ultimate Cause and Criminal Mischief go to Candy Ride and Speightstown, respectively.

Tetrad, who is now at New England Stud in Newmarket, will foal a Kitten's Joy over there and then visit Cable Bay, leading freshman sire this season.

We are excited about the current roster of mares, having added a few in the breeding stock sales the past two years, and now have more than a dozen potential mares on the track.  The goal is always to upgrade the mare roster and use proven stallions. Stay tuned!
