Frostmourne Destroys the field in the Kent Stakes

20 Jul 2017

Frostmourne proved that 9 furlongs is not a problem as he produced a six-length victor over 5 rivals in the Kent Stakes at Delaware Park on July 15.  Tracking the leader in slow fractions set by the appropriately named The Tortoise, Frostmourne caught up turning for home and powered away to a clear victory under a hand ride by Joel Rosario.  The Grade 3 carried a purse of $200,000.

Frostmourne has earned in excess of $500,000 while winning four times in six starts.  The son of Speightstown will aim to stretch his late turn of foot to 10 furlongs in the Secretariat Stakes (Grade 1) at Arlington Park in August.
