Taurine breaks her maiden in first start

21 May 2016

Taurine, the Flatter filly acquired at the 2014 Keeneland September sale, scored a victory in her first start for conditioner Christophe Clement.  Stuck on the rail turning for home, Taurine made a brave inside move up the rail inside of Deedeezee and gamely outbid that rival to the wire.  The move was made all the more impressive by the fact that it was Taurine's first apprearance on a racetrack.

Taurine made $45,000 for the win at Belmont Park.  The plan is to move steadily through her conditions and hope that she improves with experience.
