Green Lantern adds three fillies to racing stable at Keeneland Sale

16 Sep 2014

Green Lantern Stables had a successful sale at Keeneland this September. In Book 1, we sold three of our four remaining yearling colts through Pat Costello and the team at Paramount Sales and raised enough to bid aggressively on the race fillies we wanted later in Book 2.  Patrick Masson and Jenine Sahadi looked at many of the fillies in the first two books and narrowed the list down to three candidates.

When the weekend rolled around, we were ready to go.  Our first acquisition was a Street Boss filly out of an Empire Maker daughter of Tarlow, a Grade 1 winner.  A May 4 foal, the dark bay is well-balanced now and will continue to develop as she grows.  The second acquisition was a Majesticperfection out of Grade 3 winner You'renotlistening.  She is a half to three stakes winners as well.

Finally, everyone's pick of the litter was a very attractive and classy daughter of Flatter out of the Fit to Fight mare Fight to Love.  As such, she is a half sister to Capo Bastone (G1) and one other stakes horse.  We are hopeful she will turn out to be a very special racehorse.

The fillies, along with Annie O'Schiller (Artie Schiller-Annabelly, by Royal Academy) and Fed Up Fired Up (English Channel-Royal Emblem, by National Emblem), will be sent to Camden, SC and Mickey Preger, Jr. for initial training in early October.  Names are to be determined.
